About

atieno psychodramatistWhat is a coach anyway? When you need an ally, a coach is there for you. When you need a collaborator, a coach gives you their best thinking. When you need to break down toxins and limits in your thinking, a coach brings the enzyme of powerful questions. When you have big emotions, a coach sticks with you, listening with calm assurance that all is well. A coach knows that you are already okay, sees you as a leader in your life, and has full confidence in you, your strengths, your gifts, and your process.

Some credentials that matter less: I am a certified Psychodramatist and an ICF*-certified coach with 14 years experience in facilitating transformation in corporate, clinical, law enforcement, nonprofit, and multilateral settings. A Psychodramatist is a specialist who practices an extraordinary tradition founded by Jacob Moreno. Moreno believed in the goodness and expansiveness of the human spirit, the power of stepping into desired roles and ways of being rather than talking about them, and the capacity of each person to tap into infinite possibility and energy. Certification in this methodology requires coursework in therapy and 800+ hours of training and supervision.

I also hold a Master’s degree Conflict Transformation from Eastern Mennonite University; am a certified Yoga Instructor trained by Don and Amba Stapleton; am a Co-Active Coach as certified by the Coach Training Institute; am trained in Appreciative Inquiry by Jane Macgruder Watkins and Mac Odell, and am a VOICES 360 coach trained by Korn Ferry International.

I spent the first part of my career coaching from Washington DC.** I now enjoy living in a small town in the Blue Ridge Mountains with my husband and two little ones.
